Rounding Up Predictions

While I didn’t get any direct response to my Beer Predictions for 2010 post, it appears to have sparked the Doctor’s second return from retirement in the last month. Harnessing his rare form of divination that other don’t dare use, care to use or simply revile, he delivered three fist-fulls of predictions for the new year.

zoltar

I decided to collect his predictions, along with mine, and Jeff’s lone prognosis into the 2010 Beer Predictions tab at the top of the page. I did a quick scour of the NW Beer Blogs I frequent, but didn’t see any other 2010 forecasts. If I missed your stab at prophecy, I apologize, send me the link and I will get it added. If you haven’t yet, but would like to venture a guess or two, you can post them here or send me an e-mail and I will them added. At the end of the year, I plan to do a post where everyone who participated (willingly or not) can help critique our collected body of predictions.

Cheers!
Kevin

    Shall we make predictions on which of the new local breweries will succeed? Maybe a prediction of their brewed wares and quality? Maybe a prediction on their food quality and menu variety? Many we can make a prediction of how long Pyramid/Magic Hat will continue to use the MacTarnahan moniker to increase Western Seaboard sales before throwing in the towel and just turning everything into a Magic hat product? What NW brewery will become the next McDonald’s of the brewing world? Here’s a real challenge! Maybe we should predict who will be the first to give an educated and honest local beer review in 2010? ;-}

  • Dr. Wort,

    Well, I’ve put up two reviews so far this year, and while I can’t guarantee how educated they were, they are both completely honest.

    Now the issue as I see it is that the good(?) doctor will probably not agree with any review being both educated and honest until he ventures one himself. Correct?

    Seems like there is only one was to solve this eventual disagreement; Tresling.

    Cheers!

    The Doctor will not be reviewing any Widmer or Pyramid/Magic Hat’s “MacTarnahan” beers this year. I will take your word for for the quality of those beers.

    Arm wrestling? How low brow and crude. :-O

  • Arm wresting + Tetris.

    It may be low brow, but I fail to see how you can call the perfect marriage of a 26 year old computer game and a show of physical prowess that has existed since opposable thumbs…crap.

    Well there is always Chess Boxing.

    Cheers!

    …yep, probably right after the discovery of opposable thumbs….
