Ninkasi at Jack-O-Lanterns on 5th

My wife and I swung by Jack-o-Lanterns on 5th today; a fund raising event for ShelterCare. The festivities included a scavenger hunt, costume contests for children and adults and a chainsaw pumpkin carving demonstration. The community was encouraged to bring by carved pumpkins, creating the largest display in Eugene.

Sponsors of the event were each given a space to display their pumpkins. Ninkasi Brewing; one of this year’s sponsors, did something fun with their space. Through yesterday, they invited people 21 and over to drop off “Ninkasi Inspired” pumpkins at their brewery. Anyone who brought by a pumpkin received a prize for their efforts. They used their space at the event to show off these creations.

I tried to hunt down someone from the brewery, but couldn’t find anyone when I stopped by the festival. I did locate the their display area.

Most of the pumpkins prominently displayed the Ninkasi ‘N’.

There was also one pumpkin that was truly a masterpiece.
