On Tuesday January 19th Lompoc Brewing is holding a release party for their newly renamed blonde ale. Formerly Blonde Bombshell, Lompoc was forced to change the beer’s name after receiving a cease and desist order from another brewery. Last week they held a contest on their Facebook page, inviting fans to help rename their ale.

I suggested the name Legally Blonde, and as you can see from the title, it was the name Lompoc chose. Well, more accurately, the name was suggested by my wife; I just submitted it. And to be fair, Lompoc was also accepting suggestions via e-mail, so it’s possible that others came up with the same fitting name. Still, it’s cool to see our name picked.
Anyway, enough gloating, back to the beer. Legally Blonde is a 6.3% blonde ale; brewed with 100 pounds of flaked oats and a small amount of whole vanilla beans and served on a nitro tap. The release party is happening at the New Old Lompoc, from 4-9pm.
Cheers!
